Los Angeles Lakers Vs. Portland Trail Blazers Postgame (videos)

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers in overtime on Tuesday night, 109-106, despite D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson both having open looks at the buzzer in regulation and in overtime. After the game, head coach Luke Walton says that he was happy with how his team competed though he did say he was disappointed with the way the team communicated, defensively.

Heading into the matchup, all eyes were on how D’Angelo Russell would fare matching up with one of the top point guards in the league, Damian Lillard. Lillard definitely got the best out of Russell, finishing with 30 points through three quarters, while Russell went 0-9 from beyond the arc.

Julius Randle recorded the Lakers first double-double of the preseason with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jordan Clarkson continued to produce offensively off the bench, scoring a team-leading 15 points. Nick Young’s success from the game prior carried over and he knocked down four of his seven three-pointers, finishing with 14 points.
