It was a rare ending to the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors preseason game at the Valley View Casino Arena in San Diego on Saturday night. After multiple players slipped on the basketball court during the first half and third quarter of action, the officials voiced their concern about the unsafe conditions of the floor. Head coaches Byron Scott and Luke Walton agreed to call off the game with two minutes and 16 seconds to play in the third quarter.

The game ended with the Lakers ahead 85-70, and Jordan Clarkson leading the Lakers with 17 points, followed by Julius Randle with 14. Steph Curry finished the game with 19 points in his 22 minutes for the Warriors.

Lakers point guard Marcelo Huertas made his NBA debut after missing the beginning of the Lakers preseason with a hamstring injury, and Huertas impressed, getting all of his teammates involved and dishing out six assists in just 12 minutes of action. In our post-game videos, with the exception of all the talk about the unsafe floor conditions, Huertas “true point guard” ability was center stage.
