LeSean McCoy Says Kobe Has ‘Killer Instinct, That Mamba Blood’

Superstar Kobe Bryant is a die hard Philadelphia Eagles. The five-time NBA champion developed a love for the Eagles during his high school years in Philadelphia and has remained true to the team since then.

Along with Kobe’s allegiance to the Eagles, one of the team’s best players appears to be a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Eagles running back, LeSean McCoy, sat down for an interview with Maurice Pebbles of Complex.com and briefly spoke about Kobe.

The classic debate over who is better between Kobe and Michael Jordan came up with Pebbles asking why he believed the Lakers star is better than the Chicago Bulls legend:

McCoy: MJ is probably the hardest one to put him over, but Kobe Bryant is the guy. In his prime he could score from anywhere. Defensively he always stuck the best player. He has that winning attitude. I like Kobe, I like the way he approaches the game. He’s a warrior. He’s got that killer instinct, that Mamba blood. You try to take that to the football field. Kobe’s the best, man. If he’s not better than Jordan he’s the closest one.

McCoy isn’t the only prominent professional athlete to share the same sentiment about Kobe being better than Jordan. Brandon Jennings and his teammate Nick Young also recently expressed their opinion on the matter on Twitter.

Jamal Crawford and Shane Battier also talked about Kobe recently, but didn’t go as far as to say he’s better than Jordan. Both of these veterans that have faced Kobe countless times over the course of their careers say he’s the toughest player they’ve ever had to guard in the NBA.

Kobe will be entering his 19th season in the NBA with potentially only two more years left before he calls it a career. It’d be safe to say the Kobe-Jordan debate will start to heat up over the next two years as the future Hall of Famer nears retirement.
