Moser is quite experienced with D-League basketball and he is very familiar with the current head coach of the D-Fenders. Moser worked alongside Musselman as Associate Head Coach with the Reno Bighorns last season. The Bighorns finished the season with the best record in the Western Conference at 34-16, and the D-Fenders hope Moser can carry that success over to Los Angeles.
“I’m thrilled to work alongside Clay again this year after enjoying so much success together last season in Reno,” said Musselman. “To have someone on the bench with his level of experience and work ethic will be a tremendous asset to the Los Angeles D-Fenders.”
Moser has also spent time as a head coach for the Houston Rocket’s D-League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and finished the 2008-2009 season with a 21-29 record. In addition, Moser has experience at the highest level of basketball, the NBA. The now member of the D-Fenders has been apart of the scouting staffs for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. In addition to his time as a scout, Moser was once the Vice President of Basketball Development for New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets and business consultant for the NBA in 2005.
