For the first time in 20 years, Kobe Bryant wasn’t center stage at Los Angeles Lakers media day. Instead, all the focus was on the young core of Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson and new head coach Luke Walton.

Walton talked about his expectations for this upcoming season and for their No. 2 draft pick, as well as the qualities he sees in Russell to become a leader. Russell admitted about how completely different this year feels than last year. Ingram revealed the advice that Russell has given him about embracing the pressure of being the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft.

The Lakers offseason acquisitions of Luol Deng, Timofey Mozgov and Jose Calderon chatted with the media for the first time since putting on the purple and gold. And, Metta World Peace entertained as always. Check out all the individual interviews with the players below!
