Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol matched up for the final time of their careers at Staples Center on Thursday night, when the Chicago Bulls defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 114-91. Gasol notched his 26th double-double of the season, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, while Bryant finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in his 25 minutes.

After the game, Lakers head coach Byron Scott was unhappy with his team’s performance, even questioning how important basketball is to some of his players. Of D’Angelo Russell’s showing (three points, four assists, three turnovers), Scott said Russell had a “very bad start,” even seemed “lazy” on the court.

But, the Lakers poor performance wasn’t the story of the night. Instead, check out Bryant and Gasol embracing each other before the game, and what the two had to say about each other afterwards.
