Magic Johnson to play in ‘Obama Classic’ Exhibition

After announcing last week that Derek Fisher would participate in the ‘Obama Classic’ exhibition game, it appears that another Lakers point guard will be suiting up for it as well.

According to ESPN’s Ric Bucher, former Laker Magic Johnson will also be participating in the event.

The exhibition game will be held on December 12 in Washington D.C., and is meant to help raise funds for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

Johnson and Fisher will be joined by an array of other NBA players. Bucher’s sources have indicated that Baron Davis, Vince Carter, Alonzo Mourning, Jamal Crawford, Rudy Gay, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Amare Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Tyler Hansbrough, Derek Fisher, Antawn Jamison, Juwan Howard, Quentin Richardson, Dahntay Jones, Brandon Knight, Jerry Stackhouse, John Wall, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing and Doc Rivers are all expected to play.

Tickets are selling anywhere from $100 to $5,000. It is unclear whether or not the President himself will actually play in the event.
