Magic Not Ready to Let Howard Leave

Reports have said that the Orlando Magic and various other NBA teams are in talks about superstar center Dwight Howard. Howard is the best big man in the NBA and it’s essentially a forgone conclusion that he will not resign with the Magic once his contract ends.

Rumors have it that Howard will likely end up in either Los Angeles or New York City and that the Magic are trying to trade him away for some return. The Lakers, Knicks, Nets and Bulls are some of the teams that could acquire Howard, but the Magic’s front-office is still trying to keep the big man.

Dwight Howard has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Magic’s lack of effort in trying to acquire star players, but Ben Golliver of CBS Sports reports that the front office is trying to change that mentality.

The Orlando management is trying to bring Deron Williams or Chris Paul to Florida in an effort to keep Howard. If the Magic somehow lands these all-star point guards, Howard may in fact stay in Orlando. He wants to win championships as soon as possible and understands that a capable floor general will help him achieve that goal.

So before Lakers fans start imaging life with Dwight Howard, they must realized that ‘Superman’ may keep his throne in Orlando.
