Following a disappointing showing in his short stint with the team, Brooks was expected to be heading elsewhere in free agency. Unfortunately for Brooks, no NBA teams showed considerable interest forcing the shooting guard to test the market overseas.

According to Sportando.com, Brooks has signed a deal with Olimpa Milano:

Olimpia Milano officially announced the signing of MarShon Brooks.
The American guard leaves the NBA for the first team in his career to join the Italian champions.

Before the NBA trade deadline last February, the Lakers were rumored to be considering a number of different deals to improve the roster. Although many anticipated the Lakers being very active before the deadline, the team ended up making one trade.

In a three-player deal with the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers sent veteran point guard Steve Blake to the Bay Area in exchange for Kent Bazemore and Brooks. Many believed Brooks was the best player in the deal, but Bazemore ended up receiving more minutes and making the most of his opportunity with the Lakers.

In 18 games with the Lakers, Brooks averaged 6.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
