Metta World Peace: ‘Nash Should Do a Vegas Magic Show’

One of the players on the current Los Angeles Lakers roster that wasn’t sure if he’d have a job heading into the upcoming season was Metta World Peace.

With the Lakers’ front office seriously considering using the amnesty clause on the veteran forward and World Peace being fully aware of that fact, it became a realistic possibility his days in Los Angeles were numbered.

Fortunately, the Lakers decided not to amnesty World Peace and therefore let him play out the rest of his contract. As a result, World Peace felt as if he’d been given a second chance and chose to make the best of it by getting into the best shape of his life and motivated to prove he’s still one of the best defenders in the game this season.

Along with a new-look physique and different mindset heading into the 2012-13 NBA season, World Peace also has not missed a beat in terms of personality and crazy statements to the media.

World Peace recently talked about his new teammate Steve Nash and how he’s amazed by what he does on the floor via Mark Medina of the L.A. Times:

“Half of the time, I don’t get back on defense after we just scored,” World Peace said. “I’m wondering what just happened.”

And that’s why World Peace believes Nash should put on an exhibition.

“Nash should do a Vegas magic show,” the Lakers forward said. “They should put his picture on the Flamingo hotel with a picture of him posing spinning the ball with his tongue out. There could be a bunch of strippers around him naked covering themselves with a hat.”

With all the added media coverage surrounding the revamped Lakers this season, World Peace is bound to come out with more gems like this one. Even though he can be out of control on the basketball court at times, just ask James Harden and fans of the Indiana Pacers, World Peace never fails to entertain with his comments about any given subject.
