Metta World Peace to Star in Lifetime Movie with Jennie Garth

As arguably one the most unpredictable players in the NBA on and off the court, Metta World Peace always seems to do things that make Los Angeles Lakers fans shake their heads, crack up laughing or both. A perfect example of this was World Peace’s recent appearance as a weatherman in Canada for a local news station.

It appears that World Peace might be at it again during the NBA off-season as the veteran forward is set to appear in a movie alongside Jennie Garth. Back in the nineties, Garth became a household name as one of the young stars of Beverly Hills 90210.

This movie will only be aired on Lifetime, but it will be World Peace’s first big role and a must-see for Lakers fans. Unlike World Peace’s role in the hit movie Think Like a Man recently, this role will have some substance and it’ll be interesting to see how or if he can pull it off.

Reportedly, World Peace will play a detective from Georgia that works with Atlanta’ District Attorney (Garth) in pursuit of a serial killer. The story is based on Nancy Grace’s novel, “The Eleventh Victim.”

Grace talked about casting World Peace as her first choice for the role of the Georgia detective via TVGuide.com:

The Garlan character “is very dear to my heart,” says Grace, who authored The New York Times best-selling novel based on her real-life experiences and serves as one of the film’s executive producers. “I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness. Metta World Peace was my first pick.”

World Peace and Grace became good friends during their short time on the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars. Both dancers were knocked out in the early rounds. World Peace was the first to be sent home.
