Over the offseason, the Lakes acquired two stars players in Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, forming one of the most talented teams in the NBA. However, Los Angeles did not play well in the beginning of the season and it saw a coaching change after only a few games. On top of that, the Lakers faced many injuries to its main players and that left the coaching staff in an uncomfortable situation.

Lakers guard Steve Nash spoke to Fox Sports Radio and he talked about how tough this season has been for the coaching staff.
“I wouldn’t say he’s happy with where we are, just because it’s been a coach’s nightmare in a lot of ways. You’ve had a lot of guys either injured for great stretches, unfamiliar with one another, no training camp to really get the necessary hours in and finding our balance and who we are as a team. So I know it’s disappointing for him and frustrating because he hasn’t been able to really have a full shot at it.”
Nash has missed quite a few games this season due to his various injuries and that has hindered the explosiveness of the Mike D’Antoni offense. The Lakers are no doubt the most talented team in the NBA, but the juggling of egos and the unforeseeable injuries have the Lakers battling for a playoff spot rather than for the best record in the league.
The Lakers continue that battle tonight as they face the New Orleans Hornets at Staples Center.
