Kevin Durant scored 31 points and Klay Thompson finished with 30 to help the Golden State Warriors to a 118-113 win to take a 3-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. It was the closest game of three as both teams played neck and neck most of the contest. Stephen Curry also continued his strong Finals performance with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists.

The Warriors came out on top thanks to the dominant play of Durant, Thompson and Curry, while the Cavs were led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. With a 3-0 lead heading into Friday’s Game 4, the Warriors will look to become the first team in NBA history to finish the postseason with a perfect 16-0 record.

The Warriors scored 39 points in the first quarter thanks to a barrage of three-pointer form their star players. Both teams went back and forth the entire game, but Cleveland seemed to have things in control with a six-point lead with three minutes left before Golden State took over down the stretch.

The Warriors outscored Cleveland 11-0 down the stretch and Durant gave Golden State the lead when he grabbed a rebound and dribbled down the court for a pull up three-pointer over LeBron James.

James continued his outstanding play, finishing with 39 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists while Kyrie Irving had easily his best game of the Finals, finishing with 38 points. It was their best performance of the series but it still was not enough to take down the highly explosive Warriors.
