Anthony who has a home in Los Angeles is expected to take this weekend to consider everything and make his decision according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski:

The Lakers have high hopes that they will be able to convince Anthony to join his good friend Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles. If they are successful, there is belief that they will also be able to retain Pau Gasol, giving the Lakers their own ‘Big Three.’

The Lakers are facing stiff competition in their pursuit of Anthony. Both the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets boast ready-made rosters that will definitely be championship contenders with the addition of Anthony. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have Phil Jackson as their new President, and can offer him the most money.

With Anthony’s decision in limbo, the rest of free agency is basically on hold. The Lakers and the rest of these teams are focused on landing the superstar, and will wait until he chooses to truly go after other targets.

This could cost the team some other prized free agents as point guard Kyle Lowry has already decided to re-sign with the Toronto Raptors.
