Nba News: Jerseys Unveiled For 2017 All-star Game At Smoothie King Center

As the NBA regular season enters the beginning of the January, teams come within a month of the All-Star break. While the NBA All-Star game typically comes a little after the halfway point of the season, it serves as a break and as entertainment for both the fans and the players.

The 2017 All-Star Game will be held at the Smoothie King Center, the home of the New Orleans Pelicans. The game was supposed to be held at the Spectrum Center, the arena of the Charlotte Hornets. However, the NBA rescinded their offer due to the North Carolina General Assembly’s passing of the controversial HB2 bill.

Held in the city of New Orleans, the entertainment factor will surely be a great draw, as fans come together to witness the NBA All-Stars on a prime stage. It just so happens that the 2017 All-Star Game falls coincidentally during New Orleans’ celebration of Mardi Gras.

On Thursday, the NBA revealed the Eastern and Western Conference jerseys for the season. The jerseys each have their unique perspective, featuring a gray and black design between the two conferences.

Both jerseys were made in partnership from the NBA and Adidas, with the Eastern Conference using a gray and white design, via SLAM Magazine:

The 2017 All-Star Weekend also hosts a musical performance, as they locked in John Legend as the halftime performer. During these celebrations, the All-Stars usually tend to put on their own performances, such as the dance offs held by Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.

On the other hand, the Western Conference will wear black jerseys, with gray along the sides:

The Smoothie King Center recently hosted the All-Star Game in 2014, with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving taking home the All-Star Game MVP.

The 2017 All-Star Game falls on February 19th, at 8 P.M. Eastern Time. All-Star weekend kicks off on February 17th, with the Celebrity All-Star Game.
