NBA News: Andrew Bynum Out Indefinitely With Knee Soreness, Swelling

It didn’t take long for Andrew Bynum’s persistent injury problems to flare up while with the Indiana Pacers. Bynum may have made an impression in the two games played with the Pacers, but is already dealing with knee issues.

According to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, Bynum is out indefinitely:

After being waived by the Chicago Bulls, Bynum weighed his options and actually considered a return to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ultimately, the Pacers showed their interest in the veteran center and signed him for the rest of the season. The addition of Bynum was thought to be a bit of a game-changer for Indiana by giving them that much more depth on the bench. Bynum and Roy Hibbert were thought to possibly be too much for the Miami Heat if they meet in the playoffs.

Along with signing Bynum, the Pacers acquired Evan Turner from the Philadelphia 76ers before the NBA trade deadline last month. Turner has been decent during his short time in Indiana while Bynum has played well, but only in two games.

Unfortunately for the Pacers, Bynum seems to have let down another team in terms of banking on him being back to form. Since being traded by the Lakers in the summer of 2012, Bynum has been a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Bulls and Pacers, playing in a grand total of 26 games.
