NBA News: Donald Sterling Agrees To Sell, Drops Lawsuit Against NBA
[new_royalslider id=”280″]

After weeks of not knowing what the next step would be, it finally looks as if the Donald Sterling saga will come to an end.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Sterling has agreed to sell the Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, and will drop his lawsuit against the NBA:

This will bring an end to an incident that stretched out for a long time, and many believed would go on for many more weeks.

Sterling originally was recorded making racist remarks to his mistress V. Stiviano. A few days later, commissioner Adam Silver announced that Sterling would be banned for life from the NBA and that they would force a sale of the Clippers.

Sterling originally tried to fight the ruling. He hired an anti-trust lawyer, and a report was drawn up and given to the NBA outlining why it was wrong to force Sterling to sell the team. There were even reports that Sterling would sue the NBA.

He also appeared in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in which he claimed that he wasn’t a racist, and blasted Magic Johnson, claiming that he is not a good role model for young children.

By agreeing to the sale, Sterling can now fade into the background, and the Clippers can begin the process of moving out from under the Donald Sterling shadow. Many believe the Clippers should completely re-brand and possibly re-name the team. Whatever they decide to do, the healing process can really begin now.
