Following their decision to waive Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih, the New York Knicks had two roster spots available as they attempt to play their way into a playoff spot.  As a result, the Knicks have signed former Los Angeles Lakers Shannon Brown and Earl Clark to a pair of 10-day contracts, according to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck:

This will be the third 10-day contract Brown has signed this season — his first two were with the San Antonio Spurs on Feb. 1 and Feb. 12.  Brown appeared in 10 games for the Spurs, averaging 10.3 minutes per game and just over two points.  The Lakers acquired Brown during the 2008-2009 season and he then signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Suns prior to the 2011 season.

Clark was on the free agent market following his inclusion of the trade between the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers that netted the Cavaliers Spencer Hawes.  Clark was then waived however, and never played a game as a member of the 76ers.  Clark has started 17 of the 45 games he’s played in thus far and is averaging 5.2 points per game.  During his lone season with the Lakers, Clark started 36 games and averaged 7.3 points per game.
