At 32-years-old, Gilbert Arenas is ready to make an NBA comeback.
According to Michael Lee of the Washington Post, Arenas has told Nick Young that he’ll start working out in an effort to sign with an NBA team:

Many would argue that Arenas had one of the worst NBA contracts of all time. Back in 2008, Arenas signed a six-year deal with the Washington Wizards worth $111 million.
At the time, Arenas’ massive deal appeared to be the right move for the franchise that was on the rise. Arenas was a superstar in the making with some solid role players around him. Young and Arenas played together while with the Wizards from 2007 to 2010 and have remained good friends ever since.

Arenas has been linked to many different teams over the past few years with the Los Angeles Lakers even working out the veteran guard, but the three-time All-Star hasn’t been able to find a new home on the NBA level.
Reuniting with Young as a Laker may be a possibility for Arenas. The Lakers will likely look for players willing to take the league minimum this summer and Arenas might fit the bill. Although Arenas could be a target for the Lakers, it is a foregone conclusion that Young will opt-out of his deal in order to become a free agent.
Young wants to return to the Lakers, but it remains uncertain if the team is willing to give him the lucrative long-term deal he’s looking for.
