With the end of the NBA season today, Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will win the scoring title this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks announced that forward Kevin Durant would miss tonight’s game, giving the title to Anthony.

For the season, Anthony averaged 28.7 points while Durant sits at 28.1 and if he played, he’d need to score 70 points to overtake Anthony.

The 2012-13 season has been one of Anthony’s best as he’s led the Knicks to the number two seed in the Eastern Conference and averaged nearly 37 points for the month of April. Anthony has always been regarded as one of the NBA’s top scorers and this season has been his finest yet.

From April 2nd to the 9th, Anthony averaged 40 points and shot 61.1 percent from the field.
