The Lakers’ roster is finally shaping up for the new season, and the newest addition is 22-year-old shooting guard Xavier Henry. The former 12th overall pick from Kansas will try and re-invent himself in Los Angeles after a disappointing start to his professional career.
Henry was a lottery pick in the 2010 NBA Draft but has failed to live up to the hype. Henry was one of the top five basketball players coming out of high school, and his lone year at Kansas was promising. However, he decided to forgo his remaining years of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.
After being drafted 12th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies, Henry struggled and has not able able to make significant contributions to stay with one team. The Lakers will be his third team in his young career, but hopefully the change of scenery and mentorship from Kobe Bryant can help the shooting guard turn around his career.
