The NBA announced the first and second team All-Defensive teams Monday morning and to nobody’s surprise, no Lakers were selected.

Six players comprised the first team since Bulls center Joakim Noah and Knicks center Tyson Chandler were tied in votes. Rounding out the first team was Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, Grizzlies forward Tony Allen and Heat forward LeBron James.

For the second consecutive year, the Defensive Player of the Year award winner wasn’t named to the first team as Memphis center Marc Gasol was voted to the second team.

Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard received few first and second team votes as it’s the first time Kobe wasn’t voted to either team since 2005 while Howard was voted off for the first time since 2007.

The disparity between who should’ve been voted might be attributed to the fact that the NBA coaches vote on these teams while the media votes on the Defensive Player of the Year award.
