During the Los Angeles Lakers’ 99-94 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, coach Kidd decided to pull a move on the officials. The Nets were out of time outs late in the fourth quarter and with 8.3 seconds remaining in the game, Kidd needed to draw up a play for his team.
Kidd told Tyshawn Taylor to bump into him so his drink will spill on the court and cause a delay. Although the NBA world found the move assuming, the league office did not. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports tweeted that the NBA has fined Kidd for the antics.
The NBA will fine Nets coach Jason Kidd $50,000 for his stunt with the dropped cup in loss to Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo.

The Nets are already dealing with a plethora of problems as two of their main stars are injured and the team stands at a pathetic 4-11. Even though Kidd pulled a veteran move by spilling his drink, so far his NBA coaching career has gotten off on the wrong foot. Luckily the Nets are in a conference where, as it currently stands, the eight seed has a mere 6-9 record, something the Nets can potentially catch up to once healthy.
