NBA News: Toronto Raptors Want Phil Jackson As Team President

NBA: Playoffs-Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas MavericksThe Toronto Raptors have increased their pursuit of former Lakers head coach Phil Jackson to become their next team president. There were reports a couple weeks ago that the Cavaliers and Raptors would pursue Jackson, but the Raptors seem to be stepping up their efforts.

While the notion that Jackson would move north of the border might seem far-fetched, former AEG president and CEO Tim Leiweke was just hired by MLSE to run the Raptors. From their relationship in Los Angeles, Leiweke is the person that could sway Jackson to Toronto.

One variable in all the talk surrounding Jackson is his fiance Jeanie Buss. Would Jackson have the courage to leave Buss in Los Angeles while the oversaw the Raptors?

However, with the Lakers quick playoff run, there will be increasing chatter in the next few weeks about Jackson returning to Los Angeles.
