With the Lakers fighting fiercely for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, there are three games left on the schedule beginning tonight against the Golden State Warriors. But it seems that the Lakers will have one less Warrior to deal with Friday, according to Golden State beat writer Marcus Thompson.
Golden State announced starting center Andrew Bogut will not return after he sprained his left ankle during their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. Yes, the same ankle that caused him to miss 38 games between November and January.
With the recent emergence of Pau Gasol and the continued presence of Dwight Howard, the lack of Bogut in the paint for Golden State should be beneficial to the Lakers. The last time these two teams played one another the Warriors defeated the Lakers 109-103.

Bogut, the former number one overall pick, is averaging just 5.9 points this season. Rookie Festus Ezeli will start in Bogut’s place.
