NBA Play Of The Week: Deron Williams Crosses Up Chris Paul Twice

Deron Williams Chris PaulIn this version of the NBA Play of the Week, we highlight the Brooklyn Nets’ Deron Williams who destroys Chris Paul’s ankles with two devastating crossovers in their matchup in Brooklyn. The Nets had been suffering this season with a plethora of injuries, including one to Williams, but with both Williams and Paul Pierce back in the fold, the Nets were able to come away with a win over the Clippers, and Williams won the individual highlight battle with Paul with these two nasty crossovers.

The first was in a high pick and roll set with Brook Lopez. Williams hit Paul with a slick left-to-right crossover that turned Paul all the way around while Williams was pulling up for the three — splash. The second was at the end of the first half with time winding down. This time, Williams was isolated at the top of the perimeter with Paul and gave him a right-to-left crossover that put Paul on skates, opening up the lane for a layup to finish off the half. Check out both crossovers in the video below.
