NBA Reduces Andrew Bynum Suspension to Four Games

Andrew Bynum’s five game suspension for his flagrant foul on J.J. Barea last May has been reduced to four games according to Larry Coon. The reduction has to do with the shortened NBA season due to the lockout.

For those that don’t recall, Bynum elbowed Barea as he attacked the basket in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals series. Bynum was ejected from the game and the Lakers were ultimately swept out of the playoffs.

The league announced that Bynum would be suspended for the first five games of the upcoming season. However, once the season schedule was reduced from 82 games to 66 because of the lockout, the league reduced the suspension to account for the canceled games.
