The Los Angeles Lakers pulled out their first victory of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, behind Alex Caruso’s 18 points, nine assists, four steals, and four rebounds. Their 95-92 win came after being up by as many as 28 points, before both teams traded baskets in the final quarter.
Vander Blue led with 21 points and six rebounds, including a timely assist in the final minute to Thomas Bryant for the dunk that gave the Lakers the lead.
The Lakers were without Brandon Ingram (leg cramp), Lonzo Ball (sore right groin), Kyle Kuzma (cramps) and Josh Hart (sprained right ankle). Additionally, P.J. Dozier left the game after six minutes with a sprained ankle.
