Earlier in the season, the Los Angeles Lakers were rumored to be interested in making a trade for Iman Shumpert of the New York Knicks. The Lakers were looking for a boost defensively while bringing in younger talent and Shumpert fit the bill, but no deal came to fruition.
Shortly after the Lakers trade rumors linking Shumpert to L.A. started to die down, the Denver Nuggets expressed interest in shipping Kenneth Faried to New York in exchange for Shumpert.
Trade talks between the Knicks and Nuggets also died down, but it appears trade discussions may be back on according to Marc Stein of ESPN:
Hearing that Knicks are trying again to re-engage Denver and sell Nuggets on idea of trade built around Shumpert-for-Faried before deadline

With the NBA trade deadline right around the corner on Feb. 20, the Knicks may be one of the most active teams in the league. Trade rumors have circulated about New York going hard for Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics, but a deal for Faried might be more realistic.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out with the Knicks as it seems clear at this point in time that the team is looking to make a game-changing move before the deadline.
