The Los Angeles Lakers are a struggling squad and at this point, the team is fighting for pride instead of a spot in the playoff standings. For some fans, the only thing the Lakers should be playing for is the draft lottery and this loss proved to be a positive one.

The Lakers and Orlando Magic are two teams at the bottom of the NBA and there is no doubt they are going nowhere this season. Despite Los Angeles holding a double-digit lead in the game, Orlando came storming back and won in overtime to snap its ten-game losing streak.

After the loss, Lakers guard Nick Young spoke to the media and talked about the state of the team, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Los Angeles currently stands at 13-37 while the Magic are slightly ahead at 16-37. Although not many people respect the idea, the Lakers will be better off remaining at the bottom of the league in terms of record and use a top-five draft pick as part of the rebuilding process.

The Lakers will be back on the court Sunday when they travel to Cleveland to play the revamped Cavaliers. The Cavs are playing much better basketball despite the recent loss and it will take a perfect game for this Lakers squad to steal a victory at the Quicken Loans Arena.
