Nick Young had been going through one of the worst shooting slumps of his career, but has finally begun to turn things around and exploded in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Young scored 16 of his 24 points in the fourth and hit four shots from deep to lead a late Lakers rally. After the game, Young spoke about getting out of his slump according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters via Time Warner Cable SportsNet:
Nick Young on @TWCSportsNet (1/2): "I try to block out all the negativity & be swaggy out there."

Nick Young (2/2): "They told me, 'you can't turn swaggy off, you made this guy, you gotta be him!'"

With Kobe Bryant being rested in certain games, the Lakers rely on Young to be one of the main shot creators on the team. Unfortunately, teams recognize this and have begun to key in on Young when he is on the court.
Young getting out of his slump is coming at the right time as the Lakers are currently on a five-game losing streak and badly need to turn things around. Head coach Byron Scott said Young needed to focus on other things while his shot struggled and for his part, Young added four rebounds, three assists and two steals in a solid all-around performance.
As one of the few Lakers under contract past this season, the Lakers will be relying on Young’s scoring exploits to help the team in the present and the future.
