The Los Angeles Lakers had one of their worst showings of the season as they fell to the New York Knicks 92-80 on the first of a four-game road trip. Nick Young was available to play, but Byron Scott hadn’t seen him practice and decided not to play him.

After the game, Young expressed disappointment that he didn’t take the floor against the Knicks according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News:
Nick Young said he's disappointed he didn't play, but deferred to coach

Young hasn’t played since the Lakers’ game against the Houston Rockets in which he played only eight minutes. Byron Scott said Young didn’t look like he wanted to be there during that game. According to ESPN’s Arash Markazi, Young had little to say about his relationship with his head coach:
Nick Young on his his relationship with Byron Scott is going: "I don't know. I don't know. I can't tell you."

Scott hasn’t been shy about calling out his players. Earlier this season, he spoke about wanting Young to do more than just score the ball, and he has also been pretty hard on Jeremy Lin at different times this season.
The Lakers have two days off until the team’s next game against the Milwaukee Bucks which should give Young ample time to show Scott that he is ready to play. With the Lakers offense struggling the way it did against the Knicks, Young’s offense would be a welcome addition.
