The Los Angeles Lakers’ versatile Spanish big man, Pau Gasol, is having one of the best starts to his  NBA career.  Gasol is playing like a MVP and has been carrying the Lakers through the first 14 games of the season.

Entering the season, many people were expecting great seasons from LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. However, Pau Gasol is making his case for the best player in the NBA, better than any of the NBA’s three-stars.

Thus far Gasol is averaging 22.8 points per game, 12.1 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game.

To add to his already impressive start to the season, Gasol played a “perfect” game last night against the Golden State Warriors.

Gasol went 10-10 from the field, 8-8 from the free throw line, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists.

James, Bryant nor Durant are as productive or efficient as Gasol has been this season.  If Pau Gasol continues to play at this level, do not be surprised to see the seven-footer Spaniard add a MVP trophy to his résumé.
