Last week, Pau Gasol made a huge jump in his rehab progress by running on grass for the first time. The activity was the first time Gasol was able to run since his knee procedure on May 7. Running on grass is easier than running on harder surfaces. Gasol is now moving on with his rehab and engaging in basketball-related activities, according to his instagram account.
It’s unclear what activities Gasol was able to complete, but the fact that he’s back on the court is a great sign that he will be back for the start of the season.
Gasol was expected to start basketball related activities by July 30, so he’s about a month behind his anticipated schedule. His traveling has a lot to do with why he’s behind as there have been no real setbacks with any physical activities.
The Lakers begin training camp Sept. 28.
