Pau Gasol On Kobe’s All-Star Situation: ‘People Want To See Him’

Superstar Kobe Bryant might have only played six games this season due to suffering a knee injury after returning from an Achilles injury, the five-time NBA champion has been voted into the All-Star Game as a starter for the Western Conference regardless.

After the loss to the Miami Heat on Thursday night, Pau Gasol talked to the media about Bryant earning another All-Star start despite being injured according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

It came as no surprise Bryant would be named an All-Star starter on Thursday with the superstar guard leading the in the voting for backcourt players until Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors passed him up recently.

Even though Bryant lead the way throughout the majority of the process, the future Hall of Famer implored the fans to vote in younger players more deserving, considering the fact he’d only played six games so far this season.

Despite Bryant’s best efforts to convince voters to make another player the starter in the backcourt for the West, the perennial All-Star will be the starter unless unable to take the floor due to injury or illness.
