Pau Gasol Speaks About Recent Play, Confidence of Nick Young

Pau GasolThe Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for their game against the Sacramento Kings tonight, and they are hoping Nick Young can continue with his hot shooting.

Over the past three games, Young has averaged 19.3 points per game and has been a reliable scorer for team off the bench. His explosiveness and tenacity on both ends of the court has gained him respect in the locker room and his efforts have led the Lakers to a 6-7 record.

Pau Gasol spoke to ESPN Los Angeles after their game against the Warriors and he spoke about how it is playing alongside Young.

“He is unique,” Gasol said of Young when asked to compare “Swaggy P” to the scores of teammates he’s played with during his 13-year career. “He is definitely special. He’s a guy that feeds on his own confidence, so when he feels good about himself, he becomes a very effective player and a great scorer

Young is a very confident player and he is someone who is not afraid to take, and make big shots. With Kobe Bryant sidelined due to injury, the Lakers need someone like Young who has the ability to take over a game in the closing minutes.
