It was revealed recently that Pau Gasol had plantar fasciitis. He was listed as probably for Friday night’s game against Portland.
Mike Trudell from Lakers.com, however, had this report for today.
Yes. He’s been playing through the plantar fasciitis & will continue to. RT @jaymcswagg20: @lakersreporter is Pau Gasol playing tonight?

Gasol said the pain in his foot is “manageable.” It started hurting a while ago, got better when he was out w/knee tendinitis, has returned.

It’s been a challenging year for Pau Gasol both on and off the court. As far as his health goes, he’s already dealt with tendinitis on both knees, which knocked him out of eight games this season. He’s been subject to numerous trade rumors this season as well; heck, he’s been subjected to numerous trade rumors ever since Phil Jackson left town (he was already even traded once before… well, you know).
As far as his on-court production, Gasol is averaging a career-low in scoring at 12.6 points per game. He’s still averaging 8.7 rebounds and a decent 3.9 assists per game so his numbers are okay there. However, he’s shooting a horrid .420 from the field.
Nevertheless, we’ll see how Gasol works through the injury tonight against Portland. The Lakers look to avenge an earlier loss against the Blazers.
