One potentially major sign that he may be leaning toward signing with the Lakers or another team other than the Knicks is the lack of communication he’s had with Phil Jackson.
According to Chris Herring of The Wall Street Journal, Anthony hasn’t responded to any text messages that Jackson has sent his way since their meeting in Los Angeles a week ago:
Phil says he's texted Carmelo since their meeting, but hasn't gotten responses back from him.

With no contact between Carmelo and Jackson over the past week, the speculation will continue to run rampant about whether he’s seriously considering leaving New York. A report surfaced on Wednesday about Anthony having already made up his mind about re-signing with the Knicks, but an official announcement has yet to be made.

Conflicts reports about Carmelo’s intentions to re-sign with the Knicks have also started floating around. Basically, no one has any idea what is actually going on in Carmelo’s camp at the moment leaving the superstar’s future uncertain along with plenty of free agents on the open market waiting for Anthony and LeBron James to make their decisions.
At this point in time, the Lakers still have a shot at signing Carmelo with no indication that Los Angeles has been ruled out as a destination for the star forward. Although the Lakers are still in the running, most believe Carmelo ultimately ends up back in New York.
