POLL: Nick Young Is Expected To Have A Better Season Than Jordan Farmar

Nick YoungOne of the Lakers biggest concerns these last few seasons has been the collective age of the roster. The core of last season’s team, outside of Dwight Howard, was a collection of guys closer to the end than the beginning of their respective careers. While every team should have a collection of veterans to steer the young guys in the right direction, it seemed that the Lakers were only throwing out veterans on the floor save for Jordan Hill and Earl Clark — and the occasional Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris collective.

However, this offseason the Lakers made it a point to add some youth to the core of their team. They did it both literally (Nick Young) and figuratively (Jordan Farmar, Wesley Johnson and rookies). Young and Farmar are both native to Los Angeles and, of the younger guys, have the highest potential to do some good things for the Lakers this season.

This morning, we asked who you thought would have the biggest impact on the Lakers this season, and you responded with a resounding nod to Young. The product out of USC has had an up-and-down career and has show the ability to shoot his team in (and out) of games. Farmar is a former Laker who struggled within the confines of Phil Jackson’s free willing system. Considering that he’ll be much more comfortable running a more free willing pick-and-roll offense with Mike D’Antoni at the helm, it was expected that these results would be a bit closer, but Young took the vote at a 90/10 clip.
