Even without their head coach, Mike D’Antoni, suiting up for Lakers games the team seems to have acquired a new attitude since the abrupt announcement of their coaching change. This new attitude has resulted in a combined 233 points in the past two games against two teams, the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets, that have much younger legs than the veteran Los Angeles Lakers.

With all the excitement surrounding the new Lakers offense, it will be exciting to see what happens when coach D’Antoni makes his debut, but that decision is still a game-time one according to ESPN’s Beto Duran.

D’Antoni has said that he feels tremendously better each day but cited energy as his main cause for concern. According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, both Mike (without crutches) and his brother Dan were out on the practice floor today. However, neither Steve Blake nor Steve Nash practiced and instead received treatment. Like D’Antoni, Steve Blake will also be a game-time decision.

Darius Morris, who is coming off a career-high 12 points in the Lakers win against the Houston Rockets, will likely start in Steve Blake’s place. The second-year guard also added five assists and two steals on five of eight shooting (2-3 from behind the arc) Sunday night. The Lakers will take on the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday, a team that was very close to acquiring the new Lakers star, Dwight Howard.
