Report: Labor Talks Break Down Over BRI Split – Again

Rumors that today might be the day we see the lockout come to an end it appears the talks died on the table once again as the players and owners tried to reach an agreement.

The main problem appears to be the BRI split once again, which is what broke down negotiations earlier this month as well. The players refuse to drop below 52 percent while the owners are insisting on giving them no higher than 50 percent.

Neither side is budging.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst more cancellations are expected today, and there are no new meetings scheduled.

League source said talks broke when players wouldn’t accept less than 52% of BRI. No talks scheduled. More cancellations today.

Hopefully the progress the sides have made in the last two days won’t be negated by this recent hiccup, but as of now we simply have to wait and see.
