Resolution To Dwight’s Free Agency Not Guaranteed To Occur Today

While the free agency process for Dwight Howard is at its last stage, there are no guarantees that it ends today. It has been reported and assumed that Howard will make his decision on where to sign today. However, Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that that may change.

There has been endless speculation, rumors and reports surrounding the second installment of the “Dwightmare,” and there is a massive consensus that Lakers fans and basketball fans in general simply want to move forward, whatever Howard’s decision may be.

It was recently reported that the Golden State Warriors, who were among the five teams that met with Howard earlier this week, had made a strong impression and are trying to make roster moves to clear the necessary cap space to sign the big man outright. Houston appears to be the frontrunner in the Dwight sweepstakes, according to Hakeem Olajuwon.

The Lakers are still present in the mix with Howard, according to Wojnarowski:

The Lakers are tied to waiting on Howard’s decision until they can make any other roster moves, even if they are limited financially because of their cap, with or without Howard. Therefore, everyone involved has their fingers crossed that today is the day for resolution on this matter, but it could be prolonged.
