Robert Horry Describes Game Winning Shot Over Sacramento Kings

Robert Horry recently sat down with Jenny Taft from Yardbarker to talk about some of the biggest shots of his NBA career. Among those shots included a game winner in Game 1 1985 Western Conference Semi-Finals against San Antonio, Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Detroit Pistons and of course Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals Game 4 with the Lakers with that huge shot to beat the Kings.

In the interview, Horry describes how each of the three big shots develops, including what was supposed to happen, because none of the plays were designed for him. Here’s how he describes the shot to beat the Kings.

“I run in from out of bounds to set the screen for Kobe to come off to go one-on-one to get to the basket. He misses it, it gets tapped out to me and I hit that shot with the buzzer going off. To be able to hit a shot with no time left, especially a three — because threes are sexy — you’re able to knock down that three and celebrate. Every time I see that show now it still gives me goosebumps because I know I did something fantastic.”
