Ron Artest Named Finalist for NBA Citizenship Award

According to Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register, Ron Artest has been named a finalist for the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. Artest received the nod after his extensive work raising mental health awareness following his post-game interviews following Game 7 of the NBA Finals last June.

Artest also received some notoriety after auctioning off his championship ring last winter and donating the proceeds to mental health awareness.

Artest has been nominated along with Marcus Camby of the Portland Trail Blazers, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, and Kyle Korver of the Chicago Bulls.
