Ron Artest meet with over 250 children on Thursday at  Eastmont Intermediate School.  Artest discussed the importance of mental health and seeking assistance when needed.  Artest also spoke about his experiences with mental health problems and his childhood temper issue.  The assembly Artest gave to the children,  was an example of how appreciative he is towards psychiatrists and the help they offer.  Artest plans to auction off his championship ring,  and will give the funds to develop more mental-health advisors in schools.  A very nice gesture by Ron Artest, he may be “crazy,” but Artest had shown that he is a very nice guy.

Derek Fisher gave the New Orleans Saints a motivational speech about repeating as champions, before the played their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.  And so far, his speech has worked, the Saints beat the Vikings, 14-9. [OC Register]
