RUMOR: Mike Brown Reportedly Hired as Lakers Head Coach

According to reports from Matt Steinmetz of CSNBayArea.com and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, Mike Brown and the Los Angeles Lakers are nearing an agreement that will bring the 2008-09 Coach of the Year to STAPLES Center.

Brown, 41, spent five seasons in Cleveland, turning out an impressive 272-138 record before being fired following the 2009-10 NBA season.

If the reports are true, this takes former Lakers player and assistant head coach Brian Shaw out of the running, and he will likely receive offers from other teams around the league.
