Shaquille O’Neal Claims Jerry Buss Discussed Number Retirement

Former Los Angeles Laker and four-time NBA champion, Shaquille O’Neal, claims that Lakers’ owner Jerry Buss called him to discuss his number retirement. O’Neal told The Dan Patrick Show that Buss contacted him Tuesday morning to talk about his number 34 jersey.

O’Neal retired from the NBA on June 1st after an unforgettable 19-seasons. He won three consecutive championships with the Lakers and formed the league’s best duos with Kobe Bryant.

Jerry Buss released a statement shortly after O’Neal retired thanking him for the success he brought to Los Angeles. Buss also Dr. Buss also said he would eventually retire O’Neal’s famous ’34’ jersey.

It will not take long to see “The Big Aristotle’s” number hanging from the rafters.
