The 107-102 loss on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings marked the Los Angeles Lakers’ 50th loss, something that hasn’t happened since the 1970’s. With postseason hopes out of reach, the Lakers attempt to spoil playoff contending teams as they face Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks.

The last time the two teams met, the Lakers lost 110-97 in Dallas. The Mavericks shot 53 percent from the field to go along with 32 assists. Despite the late rally from Jodie Meeks putting up 24 points, Dirk Nowitzki had a game-high 27 points with seven rebounds and four assists to secure the victory.

With the roster still dealing with persistent injuries, the availability of some Laker teammates in the locker room have been cut short.

Xavier Henry has been ruled out for the remaining seven games of the season. Henry was bothered with a knee and wrist injury that kept him out for the majority of the season. Meanwhile, the team is leaning towards sitting Pau Gasol out for the remainder of the season due to his recurrence of vertigo.

Lakers point guard Steve Nash, is available to suit up and play against the Mavericks. Nash believes that he could play his last game of the season tonight at the Staples Center. With injuries surrounding the two-time NBA MVP, Nash has only been able to play 13 games this season.
