Shootaround Report: Lakers Injuries Continue Before Game vs. Cavs

The Lakers welcomed back guards Steve Nash and Steve Blake last night against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jordan Farmar is expected to make his return tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they would lose two more players in last night’s loss.

Guard Jodie Meeks went down two minutes into the game with a severely sprained ankle, and forward Jordan Hill would suffer a cervical strain after being hit with an elbow from teammate Chris Kaman. Coincidentally, these were the only Lakers who had not missed a game up to this point.

Meeks will miss at least the next two games because of his ankle issue, while Hill is a game-time decision tonight.

The consistent Laker injuries are beginning to hinder the Lakers trade options as well. Pau Gasol’s groin injury has been a major hurdle in the ongoing Lakers-Suns talks centered around the big man, and there have been conflicting reports on whether those talks will continue.

The theme of this Lakers season has been injuries, and they are continuing to haunt the Lakers ahead of tonight’s game against the Cavaliers.
