The Los Angeles Lakers worked out F/C Skal Labissière out of Kentucky on Friday morning in preparation for the 2016 NBA draft. Despite coming in as a highly touted recruit, Labissière averaged 15.8 minutes under Coach Calipari, finishing with averages of just 6.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
Labissière has an interesting story, moving over to the Unites States from Haiti after the massive earthquake in 2010. Speaking little English, Labissière was forced to learn quick, living with Gerald Hamilton who ran the Reach Your Dream Foundation.
Projected as a late lottery pick, Labissière’s draft stock dropped after his lone season at Kentucky, as he was hyped as going as high as Ben Simmons prior to his lone collegiate season. Check out his interview with the media above after his Lakers workout.
